Saint Luke’s Nursery Policy
Regarding Sick Children
The health and safety of the children is very important to the staff at Saint Luke’s.
Criteria for Inclusion (you may bring your children after illness when)
In general, children may come to the Nursery when they have been symptom free for 24 hours. A child that is placed on antibiotics must be on this medication for 24 hours before coming to the Nursery.
Criteria for Exclusion (you may not bring your children when)
Do not bring children to the Nursery if any of the following is apparent:
Increased tiredness, increased irritability, increased crying and uncontrolled coughing
Axillary fever of 100 degrees or more, and/or accompanied by other behavior changes/symptoms
Uncontrolled diarrhea (two or more episodes in a 24-hour period)
Vomiting (two or more episodes in a 24-hour period)
Mouth sores with drooling
Eye drainage
Rash with fever and/or behavior changes or a rash without fever that continues to spread.
