  • 55th Place Thrift Store

    55th Place Thrift Store is a non-profit all volunteer organization. All merchandise is donated. All profits are donated to needy agencies in the Birmingham area at the end of every year.  Visit site »

  • Alabama Grief Support Services

    The Mission of Alabama Grief Support Services is to provide comfort, compassion, guidance, and hope for those who have lost family members--through support groups, individual sessions, cooperation with community, school and religious groups and other means.   • Alabama Poverty Project

    Alabama Possible and the Alabama Poverty Project inform and inspire the civic and moral responsibility of Alabamians to create a state in which no individual’s quality of life is diminished by poverty.   • Alliance Ministries 29:11

  • Amelia Center, The

    The Amelia Center is a comprehensive grief counseling center that provides individual and family counseling to children and teens who have experienced a death, or to adults who have experienced the death of a child.  Visit site »

  • Beginning Experience

    Beginning Experience (BE) Ministry is an interdenominational peer ministry designed to assist in grief recovery and personal growth for the divorced, widowed, and separated.  Visit site »

  • Bell Center, The

    For more than 25 years, The Bell Center for Early Intervention Programs has provided treatment for children with special needs through its therapy programs. The program has provided dramatic results for the more than 1,000 children who have participated since its inception.  Visit site »

    At Better Basics, our mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of children and their families by advancing literacy through enrichment and intervention programs.   • Bridge Ministries of Birmingham

    Bridge Ministries is a faith-based, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization supported by local congregations to serve the most vulnerable in our community.   • Girls Inc. of Central Alabam

  • Grace By Day & Grace Food Pantry

    Five days a week in the Grace Church Parish Hall from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, volunteers welcome guests from the neighborhood and our homeless community, offering a listening ear, juice and cookies, games and activities, as well as a weekly worship service for those who wish to participate.  Visit site »

  • Pathways

    Pathways is a United Way agency that serves homeless women and children. We provide a safe place to stay, clean clothes, and hot meals. We also supply training and education programs to help both women and children transition back into the community.   Visit site »

    PreSchool Partners was founded on the belief that every child deserves access to a quality preschool education. We strongly believe that in order for a child to be successful in school, there must be parental involvement.   • Sawyerville Work Project

    Sawyerville Day Camp is a summer day camp in Hale County, Alabama sponsored by the Episcopal Diocese of Alabama Youth Department and the Sawyerville Commission. It is an annual camp for economically disadvantaged children and youth in the Black Belt of our state.  Visit site »
