Preparing Hearts for Worship Through Music
Saint Luke’s takes great pride in its Music Ministries. Led by our Director of Music, Dr. James Dorroh, our Music Ministries offer opportunities for members of all ages to participate in the worship life of Saint Luke’s.
The Choirs of Saint Luke's
The Parish Choir
The Parish Choir consists of high school age through adults and is directed by Jim Dorroh. The Parish Choir sings all year long at the 10:30 a.m. service and for special occasions and concerts. Membership is by audition.
Crossties is the official name of the choir for the 5:00 p.m. service, sometimes called the contemporary service. This group is directed by Shaun Pezant. This choir sings all year long at the afternoon service.
All children, 4K through 6th grade, are invited to our new and improved choir program, Music Makers. Led by Sara H. Markham, this program is a time where children will enjoy singing and playing simple instruments. They meet in the Children’s Chapel from 6:00 pm to 6:30 pm on Wednesday evenings and will sing at the 10:30 am worship services various times throughout the year.
About the Organ
The Saint Luke’s organ, a Holtkamp Pipe Organ, was installed in April of 1963. It is one of the last organs designed by the late Walter Holtkamp, Senior. The organ was completed by his son, Walter Holtkamp, Junior, after his father’s death. The organ comprises 54 ranks of pipes.
