We're With You for the Journey
Saint Luke’s seeks to support and form all members of our parish family. We've created a number of environments and experiences to help Adults build community and grow in their faith. We have Sunday Study and Discussion Groups. There are plenty of ways for you to get involved and actively serve others.
Cursillo includes a three-day weekend which begins on Thursday evening and concludes on Sunday. During these three days, talks are given by lay persons and clergy who have spent time working together carefully planning and preparing for the Weekend. The weekend is an opportunity to meet clergy and laity who are seeking to strengthen their faith. Holy Eucharist will be celebrated daily. If you wish to learn more about the Cursillo movement, please contact: Krislin Smith, Email Cursillo.
Episcopal Church Women
Welcome to Episcopal Church Women! All women of the church are automatic members of ECW, and we are delighted to have you as part of our organization.
ECW meets on first Mondays during the school year for a variety of programs and lunch. We also organize an annual half-day retreat and at least one evening gathering for Saint Luke’s women. Details are always available in the Dialogue and on the church calendar.
Our members enrich the work of the church in many ways. We host church wide receptions in honor of our new confirmands and provide food for receptions at the time of funerals. We help provide a happier Christmas for underprivileged children through the Dove Tree project. We organize and gather the United Thank Offering to support domestic and foreign missions. We provide end-of-the year gifts for the younger Preschool Partners children, to celebrate their accomplishments and encourage reading and creativity throughout the summer months. We raise funds to support various ministries through our Soup Sale, Advent Wreath project, and other efforts. In other words, we have many opportunities for you to be involved in whatever way best suits your interests and schedule.
Please remember that all levels of involvement are appropriate and appreciated. Whether you are able to spearhead a committee or join us for an occasional lunch, we welcome you with open arms and value your participation. Contact Sumner Rives, ECW President.
Our Purpose The mission of Saint Luke’s ECW is to: Foster Christian sisterhood among all women of the church and Use our time, talents, resources and creativity to minister to others and support the work of the church.
Saint Luke's Running Group
Our Saint Luke's Running Group meets each Thursday, 5:30am, at the Clock Tower in Crestline. We run a four-mile loop to Mountain Brook Village, and runners of all paces are welcome. Bring a friend, and enjoy a bottle of water with Rich and the gang afterward. We run rain or shine, and break for the month of July. Please contact the Rev. Rich Webster for any additional information.
