Lars Porter

Lars Porter, a native of Birmingham, graduated from Vestavia Hills High School and Birmingham-Southern College.  After four years of running Cross Country at BSC, Lars took over the program as the youngest NCAA Division I Head Coach in the nation.  While coaching at ‘Southern, he was also actively working with the youth program at Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church in the role of Sunday School Teacher and Assistant Youth Director.  Marrying Dana McArthur of Decatur, AL in 2006, the couple began singing in the St. Lukes Choir.  This led Lars back to church ministries as Saint Luke's Church's Director of Youth Ministries.  Lars and Dana recently had a baby boy, David Rein, and are excited to be a part of the Saint Luke's family.
