Flu Preparedness
We at Saint Luke's Church are taking every reasonable precaution to protect the health of our community. Please practice responsible infection control by staying home if you have a fever of 100 degrees or higher with a cough and/or sore throat, and reducing contact with others until you have been fever free for at least 24 hours (CDC recommendation). This is especially important for our families with young children as flu is spread most easily between children.
Saint Luke's has a special committee that is providing oversight for preparation and response to current flu predictions. The work of this committee has involved several action steps, such as the installation of hand sanitizer units throughout the church building, the review of organizational infection policies, as well as developing responses to high absenteeism. For more information, please contact Carol Pearce, Parish Nurse (cpearce@saint-lukes.com or 205-802-6209) or the Rev. Christopher Girata, Associate Rector (cgirata@saint-lukes.com or 205-802-6204).
